We''ve had kayaks for a couple of years now, and I''m a pretty big gear head, so I think I''ve gotten my lingo caught up. I always enjoy learning new skills and about new stuff though, and the kayaks are a wide open new area.

Hopefully my current kayak (#3 in 2 years) is good enough, and I don''t buy and sell quite as many kayaks as I did bicycles.

Wonderful write up on your trip. It''s funny that you like/disliked many of the same things that my wife and I noticed about the Broken Group. We too had trouble with illegal motorboat campers taking over the limited sites with tons and tons of stuff. And Tofino is a little touristy. That said, the Broken Group has terrific paddling and beautiful scenery. Your write up reminds me how much we enjoyed paddling there several years ago.
